Portraiture: Drawing
Saturdays, February 11 - March 3, 2-5pm (4 weeks)
$130 if pre-registering 1 week prior, or $140 afterward (request supply list)*
This class is targeted so that we can really see facial features.The class begins with identifying facial shapes. Then we move into eyes. In the third class we will draw lips and in the fourth class we will target the nose. As we move through these features you will create finished portraits. We will also look at differences in facial features between yourself and others. This class, in conjunction to Lin’s intro class on Face Reading, will give you an alternate view of portraiture. WOW -- that’s a powerful tool!

Portraiture: Painting
(the portrait drawing class is first recommended)
Saturdays, March 17 - April 14, 2-5pm (No class April 7) (4 weeks)
$130 if pre-registering 1 week prior, or $140 afterward (request supply list)*
Based on the foundation of facial features, this painting class in either oils or acrylics will add dimension to your painting. We will look at the totality of the person you choose to paint by heightening the personality that is hidden within the face. We heighten it by the use of color and surrounding details to create emphasis and meaning in the portrait. Shaqe will focus on painting techniques and the use of color to achieve your personal vision. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Shaqe (shacha) the instructor is a figurative artist. She has a fascination with the face and with exploring the psychology of human expression. Shaqe has completed 17 portraits of adults portrayed as children. To view this work:
