2-D Collage
Session 1: Thursdays, January 19 - February 23, 6-9pm (6 weeks)
Session 2: Thursdays, March 1 - April 12, 6-9pm (No class April 5)
Per 6-week session: $175 if pre-registering 1 week prior, or $190 afterward (includes basic supplies). All levels welcome!
Collage is a medium that really can utilize so many forms of material from paper to fabric to found objects, as well as painting, drawing and more. It can be composed of lanscape, still life, the human figure, animals or even contain abstract components.
Therefore I teach this on a more individualistic basis. I provide the basis of utilizing a story as the basic foundation of creating a collage. Sometimes that narrative is on the tip of the tongue and other times it comes through the creative process. So inherently this class is about diving into the process. As the class progresses week to week I teach techniques and tools that will aid you in letting your collage come to life. Some of the techniques involve the use of choosing the right patterns to create shading or the different uses of size to create dimension. There are many techniques that will unfold within this class.
The physical tools for this workshop are glue, scissors, fabric, and canvas paper. But it’s you and your stories that will bring the collage to life.
