Weekly Art Classes for Tweens

(24 hour notice required)

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Tween Art Meet-up (ages 9-12)

At this age, the young person is in transition from the imaginary to the concrete. So the emphasis of this meet-up is to encourage and develop both. By having exercises and art projects that stretch the imagination, the young person develops their imaginative capabilities as part of their learning process and experience. Shaqe also integrates structured class exercises where technique and perception are emphasized, by looking at still-life objects and photos.

This meet-up is for tweens at any artistic level who want to explore art and want to be encouraged to develop their own voice. Students will work with painting (acrylics and watercolor), drawing, collage, markers, and mixed media, individually and as a group. Collaboration, mentorship and independent development will be the focus.
